ARCHITECTURE:
After looking at varios possibilities offered in various Universities in both Spain and England, Manchester School of Architecture was the most attractive option because I believe my creativity, expectations and ambitions can be fulfilled by studying at Manchester University. Furthermore I believe that obtaining a degree at your university would result in a good preparation and therefore open doors to wider work possibilities.
Another thing which has caught my attention, is the university’s promotion of co-operative work which prepares the student to work as part of a team. Another important merit of this university it’s advanced technology because the aquisicion of technological proficiency marks the difference in future perspectives.
Some months ago I spent a short period of time in Barcelona, and my first visit was to the Sagrada Familia which is one of the most important landmarks in Spain.
Standing in front of this amazing creation I became overwholmed by it´s intrinsic bauty and in my wonder I asked myself “How is it posible that through architecture the thoughts and cretitvity of man can be so wonderfully expressed and which remain for centuries to come? . In my opinion this work portrays the sentiments held by the deep religious beliefs of Gaudí which becomes an expresión of himself by which a masterpiece came to being.
The Arquitect who I have always admired is Foster. One reason is because he was the first architect that my father introduced me to and his works planted in me the seed of architecture love.
I love the simplicity of his buildings combined with versatility and innovation which makes his works so inspirational for arquitects of the 21st century.
One of my greatest desires is to visit and explore the Empire State Building in the U.S.A. as it was one ofe the first skyscrapers constructed in the world and one striking observation of this building is it´s height when we consider the year in which it was contructed.
Many architectural designs have encouraged me to shidy architecture and I believe that Manchester University would be the right place for me to flourish and acheive the goal which I most desire.
